About Anja Herden
Anja Herden was born in Bielefeld and studied acting at Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. She has been a guest performer at numerous theaters, including Schauspielhaus Zurich, Thalia Theater Hamburg and Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin. She had an engagement at Schauspiel Köln from 2002 until 2011 and at Volkstheater in Vienna from 2015 to 2019. In addition to stage acting, she is also involved in directing and conceptualization, and works for radio, film and television. In 2018, she was nominated as Best Actress for the Austrian Nestroy theater prize for her role in the solo show “Compassion. The History of the Machine Gun”. Since 2019, she has been a member of the ensemble at Schauspiel Hannover. She has also been a guest lecturer at the Thomas Bernhard Institute at University Mozarteum Salzburg since 2020.
