Welcome!
When we had the idea of creating a popular literature festival more than 25 years ago, we could not have foreseen that lit.COLOGNE would become one of the largest literature festivals in Europe. Every year we have more than 110,000 visitors, including more than 27,000 children at lit.kid.COLOGNE. This success story is only possible thanks to an enthusiastic audience that is praised as “unique” by our authors from all over the world. The festival is made possible by our supporters and sponsor partners,
who you will also encounter at many of our festival activities.
The festival would be unthinkable without the large presence of top-class authors, presenters and actors and without the good cooperation with the publishers.
We hope you enjoy discovering your personal favorite events
Your lit.COLOGNE team
Thank you for 25 years of lit.COLOGNE!
Many thanks for the flowers! The big lit.COLOGNE gala with Kat Frankie, Olli Dittrich, Sibel Kekilli and Hans Sigl
For 25 years, we have had the pleasure of inspiring and entertaining Cologne audiences with the greatest authors, the most sensational stage artists, the most captivating actors and the most evocative musicians. And the audience, without a doubt, is one of a kind! And that is why tonight, to mark the 25th anniversary of lit.COLOGNE, we are celebrating everything that was, that is, and that will be. And we want to say thank you. Thanks for listening and reading, for laughing and clapping, for trusting and encouraging. Olli Dittrich, Sibel Kekilli and Hans Sigl will read the nicest thank-you letters and other texts that highlight what makes us feel grateful, inspired and richly rewarded. ...
lit.kid.COLOGNE celebrates reading!
For and with children and young people, in the mornings for school classes and at weekends in the family program and at lit.ComingOfAge.
lit.kid.COLOGNE encourages people to read, think and talk. Authors and other interesting and interested personalities read, talk and discuss with children and young people at eye level, taking them with them to cross familiar horizons and discover new worlds of reading.
The lit.COLOGNE strives to be as inclusive as possible.
For years now, the lit.COLOGNE has been actively working to enable persons with disabilities to participate. There is a wide range of barriers that prevent people with disabilities from participating normally in cultural events. In its efforts to change this, the phil.cologne offers multiple fully-accessible and improved-access events every year.
