About Barbara Auer
Barbara Auer was born in Konstanz and studied at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater. Following her debut at Stadttheater Mainz, she had engagements at Ruhrfestspiele in Recklinghausen, Burgtheater in Vienna and Hamburger St. Pauli Theater. With her role in Vivian Naefe’s “Der Boss aus dem Westen”, she became known to a large audience. Since then, the multi-award-winning actress has appeared in prize-winning productions such as Dominik Graf’s “Reise nach Weimar”, Margarethe von Trotta’s “The Other Woman” and “I Am the Other Woman” as well as “The Wall” directed by Michael Krummenacher and “Das Ende einer Nacht” directed by Matti Gschonneck. She was also terrific in Christian Petzold’s “The State I Am In” and “Transit”, Christine Repond’s “Vacuum”, and “The Book Thief”, directed by Brian Percival. From 2005-2019 she appeared in Lars Becker’s crime series “Nachtschicht” and can currently be seen in Oliver Hirschbiegel’s “Unwanted”. Christian Petzold's “Miroirs No. 3” has just been shot.
