About Bart Moeyaert
Bart Moeyaert was born in Bruges in 1964. He has won many honors for his work as a children’s and young adult fiction author in his native Belgium and was awarded the German Children’s Literature Award in 1998. In 2016, Moeyaert was nominated for the Hans Christian Andersen Prize for the fifth time. And he has been nominated nine times for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. Bart Moeyaert’s work has been translated into 20 languages. He teaches creative writing at the Royal Art School in Antwerp and writes screenplays and stage plays, as well as translating from German, English and French.
