About Christiane Paul
Christiane Paul was born in 1974 and played her first leading role in Nikolaus Schilling’s “Deutschfieber”. While studying medicine, she acted in productions such as “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” and Fatih Akin’s “In July”. After obtaining her doctorate, she worked as a surgeon for several years, but began focusing exclusively on acting in 2004. In addition to successful film projects such as Dennis Gansel’s “The Wave”, Paul has also appeared in television productions such as “Hindenburg: The Last Flight”, “Generation War” and the international miniseries “Paranoid” and “Counterpart”. At the beginning of 2019 she will appear in the Sky series “8 Tage”, directed by Stefan Ruzowitzky and Michael Krummenacher. Christiane Paul has won numerous honors, most recently she was nominated in 2017 for the German Film Award for her “Wunderlich’s World”. In 2016, she received an International Emmy for best performance by an actress in the TV thriller “Unterem Radar”. Furthermore, she received the German Federal Cross of Merit in 2017 for her social engagement. She is currently playing „The Trial“ (org. „Der Prozess“) at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin.
