About Dmitrij Kapitelman
Dmitrij Kapitelman was born in Kiev in 1986. At the age of eight, he came as a “quota refugee” with his family to Germany. He studied political science and sociology at the University of Leipzig and graduated from the German School of Journalism in Munich. Today he works as a freelance journalist. In 2016, his first book “My Invisible Father’s Smile” was successfully published and won him the Klaus Michael Kühne Prize. His latest novel, “A Formality in Kiev”, was released in 2021.
