About Gerd Köster
Born in 1957, Gerd Köster started his career in 1979 as singer of the band “Schroeder Roadshow”. He was also front man and songwriter for “The Piano has been Drinking” (1988-1993) and “Gerd Köster Band”. Since 1996 he’s been performing with Frank Hocker in and around Cologne as “Köster/Hocker”. He has been performing readings at lit.COLOGNE since the very beginning, lending his voice to the works of authors such as John Irving, T.C. Boyle and Dan Brown. Moreover, he has narrated several audiobooks. Köster is an ensemble member of Kölsch Milljö and Kölsche Weihnacht as well as a founding member of the organization “AG Arsch huh” which promotes tolerance and diversity. The latest album by Köster/Höcker is called “Stabil nervös - live an der Mosel”. He has also been playing the leading role in “Der Unbeugsame - Der Widerstand des Karl Küpper” at the Volksbühne am Rudolfplatz for two and a half years.
