About Hendrik Streeck
Born in 1977, Hendrik Streeck studied medicine in Berlin and at Harvard. In 2015, after working for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and as head of the US Military HIV Research Program for Cellular Immunology, he was appointed professor of medical biology in Essen. There, he founded the Institute for HIV Research. Today, he heads the Institute of Virology in Bonn and advocates for ethical and professional scientific research worldwide. After publishing three successful non-fiction books on viruses, “Das Institut” [“The Institute”] (2025) is his first novel. The doctor, scientist and bestselling author lives in Bonn.
