About Herbert Grönemeyer

Herbert Grönemeyer, born on April 12, 1956, in Göttingen, is a German musician, actor, and producer. He first gained national recognition in the film "Das Boot" (1981). His major breakthrough as a musician came with the album "4630 Bochum" (1984), which, along with "Mensch" (2002), remains one of the ten best-selling albums in Germany. With lyrics like "Give me back my heart / Before it breaks apart," (orig.: »Gib mir mein Herz zurück / Bevor es auseinanderbricht«) Grönemeyer has made a significant impact on German pop history. In 2020, the biography "Grönemeyer!" by Michael Lentz was published, exploring his life and work.
