About Marcel Kittel
Marcel Kittel, who was born in 1988 in Arnstadt, is a German former professional cyclist. He began cycling competitively at the age of 13, became a member of the Thüringen Energy Team in 2007, rode for the Skil Shimano team, which was renamed several times, from 2011, and for Etixx Quick Step from 2016. After switching to team Katusha Alpecin, he ended his professional career in 2019, counting 19 grand tour stage victories among his successes. He is working towards a degree in economics and still has a professional role in the world of cycling. He is married to the Dutch former national volleyball player, Tess von Piekartz, with whom he has two sons and a daughter.
