About Mavie Hörbiger
Mavie Hörbiger is a German-Austrian actor working in film, television and theater. Her film career began in 2000, when she took the leading role in “Bundle of Joy”, directed by Detlev Buck.
2017 saw the release of the movies “Summerhouses”, directed by Sonja Maria Kröner, and “Lommbock”, directed by Christian Zübert. In 2018, Hörbiger played the female lead in Max Färberböck’s “I Need You”. In early 2019, she acted in the television movie “Todesfrist”, directed by Christopher Schier. In March of the same year, Marie Kreutzer’s film “The Ground Beneath My Feet” premiered at Diagonale Graz, with Hörbiger in the role of Elise. Mavie Hörbiger also appeared in David Schalko’s “Me and the Others” and can currently be seen on the big screen in “The Protected Men”, directed by Irene von Alberti. Hörbiger has received various awards for her work, including the Golden Romy. Since 2011/12 she has been part of the permanent ensemble at Burgtheater. In 2023, she played the female lead in “The Misanthrope”, under the direction of Martin Kusej, and she recently shone in the title role of “Peer Gynt”, directed by Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson.
