About Michel Friedman
Born in 1956 in Paris, Michel Friedman is a lawyer, philosopher and journalist. From 2000 to 2003 he was the Vice President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany and from 2001 to 2003 he was President of the European Jewish Congress. He is actively committed to combatting right-wing radicalism and fostering the integration of refugees. He is also an honorary professor at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and was Director of the Center for Applied European Studies (CAES). In the new series “Friedman spricht…” at the Kammerspeiele in Munich, Friedman and his guests discuss current topics. His play “Fremd” (2022) is currently being staged at several theaters, including the Gorki Theater in Berlin. He is a recipient of the Goethe Plaque of the City of Frankfurt.
