About Navid Kermani
Born in 1967, Navid Kermani is an Oriental studies scholar and works as a freelance author in Cologne. He has won numerous honors for his works, including the including the Kleist Prize, the Joseph Breitbach Prize and The Peace Prize of the German Book Trade. He received the Thomas Mann Prize in 2024. His recent works include “The Alphabet up to S” (2024), “Israel: An Exchange” (co-written with Natan Sznaider, 2023), “Come a Little Closer, All of You, Wherever You Are” (2022) and “Was jetzt möglich ist. 33 politische Situationen” (2022). Since 2006, he has co-hosted the “Literary Salon” with Guy Helminger at the Stadtgarten in Cologne. In January 2025, he will publish his newest children’s book: “Zuhause ist es am schönsten, sagte die linke Hand und hielt sich an der Heizung fest”.
