Since the publication of her number-one bestselling debut “Dear Child”, Romy Hausmann (born in 1981) has been celebrated as one of Germany’s best thriller authors. The Netflix adaptation of “Dear Child” is the most successful German series ever and was nominated for an International Emmy Award as best drama/miniseries in 2024. Hausmann continued her successful streak with “Sleepless” (2021) and “Perfect Day” (2022). In 2022, she also published her first non-fiction book, “True Crime. Der Abgrund in dir”. All of her books have been Der Spiegel bestsellers and her works have been very successfully published in 29 countries.
