About Sibel Kekilli
Sibel Kekilli is a German actress with Turkish roots, known for the award-winning movie “Head-On” (2004), for which she won the German Film Award. Then came roles in productions such as “Winter Journey” (2006) and Feo Aladag’s “The Stranger” (2010), which brought accolades including Kekilli’s second German Film Award and the Best Actress Award at the Tribeca Film Festival. From 2010 to 2017, she played an investigator in “Tatort” set in Kiel and appeared in the highly acclaimed HBO series “Game of Thrones” (2011–2014). Her latest role is in Ameer Fakher Eldin’s movie “Yunan”, set to debut in 2025. In 2023, she made her theater debut with a performance in Michel Friedman’s “Fremd” [“Foreign”] at the Berliner Ensemble. In 2017, she was awarded the German Federal Cross of Merit for her role in the fight for women’s rights.
