About Stefan Christmann
Born in 1983, Stefan Christmann is a German nature photographer and filmmaker. He is one of the few people to have spent two winters in Antarctica, during which time he captured unique photographs of the emperor penguin colony in Atka Bay. Christmann’s photography skills have been honored with the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Portfolio Award 2019 and the Ocean Photographer of the Year Collective Portfolio Award in 2021. His work is an ode to the polar regions – to their beauty as well as their fragility.
