About Stephan Klemm
Stephan Klemm was born in 1967 in Krefeld and now lives in Bonn. He pursued a degree in German studies and history in Cologne and spent a year studying in Aix-en-Provence. From 2000 to 2024, he was the editor of the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger newspaper, and he has been a writer for Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Frankfurter Rundschau since summer 2024. Before writing his tour book, he worked on professional cyclist Marcel Kittel’s autobiography (“Das Gespür für den Augenblick” [“An Instinct for the Moment”] (2021) and wrote “Die Nacht von Sevilla: Ein deutsch-französisches Fußballdrama” [“The Night in Seville”: A German-French Football Drama”] (2021). He has two sons.
