About Susanne Becker
Television journalist Susanne Becker obtained her doctorate in American studies with a dissertation on Margaret Atwood and Alice Munro. She has taught at the Universities of Mainz and Siegen, as well as at Columbia University in New York, the University of Victoria and Emily Carr University in Vancouver, Canada. For many years, she has worked in the main editorial division for cultural programming at broadcaster ZDF, where she initiates and oversees innovative documentaries and primetime formats. For her latest project, “Stars gegen Trump - Amerikas neuer Widerstand” [“Stars Versus Trump: America’s New Resistance”], she interviewed prominent creative artists in the USA about the Trump era. She publishes books and essays about culture and society and has been a host at lit.COLOGNE for the past 10 years.
