About Susanne Weingarten
Born in 1964, Susanne Weingarten obtained a doctorate in American studies and attended the Henri Nannen Journalism School in Hamburg. She is the author and publisher of several non-fiction books. From 1992 until 2001 she was a culture reporter for Der Spiegel and held a European Journalism Fellowship in Berlin. She then spent several years as a freelance author in the USA, including time in Los Angeles and Boston. In 2008/2009 she was the head of the culture section of Der Spiegel and then head of the special topics section (SPIEGEL GESCHICHTE, SPIEGEL WISSEN). Since 2021 she is Managing Editor in Chief.
