About Sylvester Groth
Sylvester Groth became famous in the German Democratic Republic in 1982 with his role as young Mark Niebuhr in Frank Beyer’s “Held for Questioning”. He has performed on all of the major German-speaking stages, working with renowned directors such as Peter Zadek, Klaus-Michael Grüber and Robert Wilson, and in roles such as Don Carlos, Zucco and Hamlet. His main television performances include “Reise nach Weimar” and “The Publisher”. In recent years, Sylvester Groth has been known for his roles in artistically stunning television films. With his highly acclaimed portrayal of Goebbels in Dani Levy’s “My Führer”, he also made a big splash on the big screen. Sylvester Groth’s artistic achievements have been honored with accolades such as the Grimme Award and the Association of German Critics prize in the film category.
