All the noise and dirt and dust – 30 years of songs and writing with Thees Uhlmann
with Thees Uhlmann
Veranstaltungsdauer: 120 Minuten
One thing is certain: Thees Uhlmann has been playing in the Champion’s League of German singer-songwriters for many years. Almost incidentally, he also became a celebrated author with “Sophia, Death and Me”. His first band, Tomte, “released” their first demo tape 30 years ago. Their debut album “Du weißt, was ich meine” [“You Know What I Mean”] was produced by none other than Marcus Wiebusch, frontman of legendary indie rock band Kettcar. 15 years ago, Thees made his debut as a solo artist with a band. To celebrate all of that, his best-of album, Sincerely, Thees Uhlmann! is being released in December 2024.
At lit.COLOGNE, he will sing and talk about everything that’s happened in all those years, from local gigs to stadiums, from Hemmoor to New York, from the earliest Tomte songs to the newest from this afternoon, about noise, dirt and dust. It will be just Thees, his guitar and lyrics that have become immortal.
