Between realpolitik and utopia – with Daniel Cohn-Bendit and Claus Leggewie back to reality
They are unorthodox thinkers and keen observers of political reality: Daniel Cohn-Bendit is an icon of the antiauthoritarian movement and sat in the European Parliament for the Greens for 20 years. Political scientist and journalist Claus Leggewie has written some of the most perceptive publications that can be found in the field of international politics. Now the two have co-written a book: In Zurück zur Wirklichkeit. Eine politische Freundschaft [“Back to Reality: A Political Friendship”], they look towards the past but also into the midst of our crisis-plagued present day: Their many years of political experience and their insights gained from intense discussions are especially valuable in a precarious political situation like we are facing today. For them, one thing is certain: “One cannot take historical disasters personally, even when they come thick and fast and one hope after another disappears.” Host: Ferdos Forudastan
