Christian Streich on the books of his life
Not only was Christian Streich a successful coach for the soccer club SC Freiburg for more than 20 years, he also became a moral institution. He repeatedly spoke out against racism and anti-democratic developments. Besides being a great soccer coach and humanist, Streich has also been a passionate reader his entire life. The blueprint for the “Books of My Life” series dates back to 2013, when Karl Lagerfeld talked to us about “his” books. Twelve years later, we are returning to this idea and inviting accomplished and highly esteemed guests, whom you might not necessarily immediately associate with the world of books, to take us on their reading journey. At this event, Streich will be joined by journalist Christoph Biermann to discuss the books that have especially moved and influenced him and how he strikes a balance between the world of literature in the world of soccer.
