It’s time for the next round of the lit.COLOGNE Debut Prize! Once again, we are seeking the most exciting debut novels published this spring. And the prize? The winner takes home the Silver Pig, donated by RheinEnergie and worth €2,222.
Marie-Christine Knop will guide us through this evening and present the three nominees: In her first novel Hier draußen [“Out Here”], Martina Behm creates an intricately woven portrait of a village community that is thrown off balance by a consequential accident. In Klapper, Kurt Prödel tells a tragicomic story about friendship and growing up in the digital and analog worlds of the 2010s. And in her fast-paced and multilayered debut Zu Hause ist das Wetter unzuverlässig [“The Weather At Home Is Unreliable”], Carolin Würfel brings together the stories of women from three generations. Who’ll be the winner? That’s for you to decide! At the end of the event, the audience can vote and choose the winner.
