“Love is important to you” – On a train with Daniel Glattauer and Julia Koschitz
“Love is important to you”, Catrin Meyr tells her chance traveling companion. Eduard Brünhofer, a once-renowned author of romance novels, is on the train from Vienna to Munich. Not necessarily with the intention of talking to the early middle-aged woman he finds himself sharing a compartment with. Certainly not with the idea of talking to her about his books. And with absolutely no desire to reflect on his years of marriage to Gina. But the therapist Catrin Meyr is relentless. She asks the most indiscreet questions without inhibition, doesn’t think much of long-term relationships but wants to know all about them. In short, she wants to talk about love. Which creates quite a predicament for Brünhofer.
Daniel Glattauer (“Love Virtually”) and Julia Koschitz read from Glattauer’s latest novel, Two on a Train, in which a chance meeting leads to a conversation about life’s big issues.
