Poems in difficult circumstances – a literary dance on the precipice of comedy. With Michael Lentz and Uli Winters
with Uli Winters Michael Lentz
“Life is hard. Poetry is easy”, as someone once said. That person couldn’t be more wrong. Because in order to read a text as it is truly meant to be read, the speaker must go to the limit.
Michael Lentz (vocals, saxophone, etc.) and Uli Winters (vocals, guitar, music box, etc.) crawl in the dust in order to change their lives, as instructed by R.M. Rilke. They fill their mouths with bread until there’s no more room for words – or they read two poems at the same time. Who knows who long we have left to live? How often must we remark on the flower in the vase before it wilts? Why is August Stramm in the news and what do the tones of freedom sound like on a Western-style guitar? Lentz and Winters dance, sing, play music and complain until they find an answer to all these questions. With poems by Renate Rasp, Rainer Maria Rilke, Dieter Roth, Gertrude Stein, Georg Trakl, Karl Valentin and Michael Lentz.
