“Shutter Speed” – Maja Lunde and Mariele Millowitsch on a world at a standstill
“The History of Bees” brought Norwegian author Maja Lunde international fame. In her new book, Shutter Speed, she once again delicately examines our connection with nature. On a normal June day, time suddenly stands still. Nobody dies; no one new is born. This unexpected immortality changes how people feel about their lives. Pensioner Margo wants to celebrate life. For the photographer, Jenny, there’s nothing better than spending the extra time with her family – but she has a lingering feeling that she’s missing something important. The nurse, Eva, on the other hand, sees how expectant parents are concerned about when their babies will be born. Across the country, people are wondering why they’ve fallen out of time, while nature continues its cycle of becoming and departing undeterred. German Text: Mariele Millowitsch; Host: Angela Spizig
