The future is magic – with Matthias Horx
In his new book, The Future Is Magic, Matthias Horx crisscrosses the borders between politics, business and journalism to present an extraordinary account of his life and work. Horx takes us from the moon landings to a present day shaped by pandemics, wars and polarization, in which a positive future seems almost unthinkable. He examines his own attitudes and wonders about the dynamics that determine what happens next. Is progress even possible or do bad things just keep coming back around? Are we destined to fail? Searching for answers, he develops a new “humanist futurism”, which sees the future as a spiritual dimension that is part of our being.
